Don’t you love it/hate it when a drama is finally getting to the end and it feels like all the tension is finally coming to a head that it’s almost unbearable but you don’t want to turn it off because you have to see how it all ends? It’s like the sweetest kind of torture. Dear Lord, what have I become?

Shining Inheritance - Episode 21

Note: I feel I should apologize for earlier. I kind of jumped the gun on this episode from my unexplainable excitement from the happenings in this episode. Sorry if I spoiled anything for anyone.

Backstory: The love square (Hwan, Seung-mi, Eun-sung, and Jun-se) all go on the same business trip. Awkwardness ensues. Especially when Jun-se asks Eun-sung if she would be interested in managing a restaurant cruise he is thinking about opening (hence more personal time together. Hence Hwan freaks out about it.) Hwan follows Eun-sung when she decides to explore nature first thing the next morning. She tries to hide when she finally sees him but he finds her eventually.)

Sun Woo Hwan: Don’t do it. Don’t do anything with Jun-se. Don’t work in the same restaurant. Don’t hang out with him. Don’t do anything with him.

Go Eun Sung: Why are you doing this?

Sun Woo Hwan: Stay by my side!

Go Eun Sung: How can we just forget those two? What would we be together? Do you know what we’re up against? There’s Sung-mi. And there’s Jun-se. There’s your grandmother, your mother and Jung (his sister) who all think I’m a fraud. There’s Eun-woo (her little brother) and my father!

(He has nothing to say. He almost looks dejected but he then notices she is wearing the necklace he gave her earlier.)

Go Eun Sung: Please stop.

(She turns and runs toward a wobbling bridge (Note: No, seriously, this bridge looks ridiculously unsafe.). He chases after her.)

Sun Woo Hwan: Stop!

(She stops in the middle of the bridge and he walks toward her.)

Sun Woo Hwan: Who cares about all that….when I believe in you?….When I like you…When I want you.

This all then leads to the aforementioned “incident”. The anxiously awaited incident. Finally.

(Go Eun Sung gets off bus. Hwan has been waiting for her at the bus stop all night.)

Hwan: Hey!! What kind of person are you?! Why are you driving me crazy?! Do you know what time it is right now?! What have been doing that you’re coming back at this hour?! Did you forget you were supposed to meet me?! Why didn’t you answer your phone? You exist simply to screw with me, aren’t you?! You’ve completely become that person to me!!

Eun Sung: Have you been waiting here for me?

Hwan: Why didn’t you show up?!

Eun Sung: I’m sorry I couldn’t make it, but why are are you so worried?

Hwan: Why can’t I be worried about you? You did it on purpose to make me angry, right?

(Pauses)

Hwan: Why can’t I worry about you?

Sun Woo Hwan: (Speaking to Go Eun Woo) It must be great that you like the piano. The piano doesn’t hate you, does it? You know what it feels like to like someone who hates you? There is a girl I know named Spy.

Eun Woo: Spy. Spy. Pretty.

Woo Hwan: How did you know she was pretty without having seen her?

Eun Woo: Spy.

Woo Hwan: Yeah, she’s like a spy. The problem is, the more time I spend with her, the more I forget that.
